G20 fast approaching

Howdy crusties!

Crazy days are approaching as the preparations for the G20 protests are steaming up and here at rampART we cannot wait.

Despite some cheater that spread some false news on indymedia (watch yr back – our bounty killers are after you) the situation is under control and thanks to your solidarity the occupation of the building is running smoothly.

So join us on the ramparts as we build up towards the G20 protests. Come along to the g20 info cafes every day from 2 to 10pm, to know more about the protests,  prepare banners and placards, debate about what to do to make capitalism collapse faster, and get to know your new protest buddies.

Together with other social centres, squatters and housing groups rampART will join the Housing March (Black Procession) on the 1st of April.

Join us on the 360th anniversary of the Diggers at 11am at Cannon Street station together with thousands of other people who think that housing is a right and not a business and that is time to take back the space that bankers, bureaucrats, bailiffs, brownites, blairites, and other badasses have stolen from us.

GET INVOLVED AT RAMPART

Weekly rampART organising meetings are held at Rampart every Monday from 7pm. You are welcome to come by and get involved. We welcome proposals for our Thursdays’ info-cafes.

SOLIDARITY WITH RAVEN’S AIT ISLAND UNDER EVICTION THREAT

Due to the need for urgent environmental action people from the group Circle Community have occupied an island in the Thames. Ravens Ait Island is a unique wedding and conference centre with halls, many rooms, workshop spaces, kitchens and gardens.  On an enchanting island in The Thames near Kingston, (opposite Hampton Court) which has been transformed into an Eco Conference Centre. Unfortunately, the owners are alrady trying to kick them out. The occupiers have received the court papers and need people to help to keep the project alive.

IF YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO USE A CONDOM ASK THE POPE

Infamous Pope John Ratzinger does not miss any occasion to impress us.
During a visit to Africa Pope Benedict said that “[AIDS] cannot be overcome through the distribution of condoms, which even aggravates the problems”. This is a very dangerous assertion for global public health and is a bit weird to get sexual advice from someone that supposedly should not know anything about sex.

CLIMATE CAMP HITS THE CITY – 12:30 exactly – European Climate Exchange, Hasilwood House, 62 Bishopsgate

On April 1st the G20 leaders arrive in London. At a time of climate crisis their response to the market meltdown is emergency loans to car manufacturers, increased spending to encourage consumption, and bailouts for the very people who got us into this mess – just the thing that will make the climate crisis worse.

Don’t let them get away with it: join our camp in the Square Mile!

Bring a pop-up tent if you’ve got one, sleeping bag, wind turbine, mobile cinema, action plans and ideas…let’s imagine another world.
